Popular rap artist Snoop Dogg was almost late for his concert in Dallas.

He and his entourage were traveling on I-45 just north of Corsicana when state troopers pulled their tour bus over for expired tags.

"The odor of marijuana was found coming from the bus," Senior Corporal Charlie Morgan tells 1200 WOAI news radio. "The bus was searched. The search revealed two ounces of marijuana."

Twenty six year old Kevin Barkey and 27 year old Ethan Calhoun were arrested and taken to the Navarro County jail, where they each posted a $1,500 bond and were later released.

Snoop Dogg, whose birth name is Cordozar Calvin Broadus Jr., was not arrested.

These type of busts happen all the time, all over the state.

San Antonio Police Sergeant Gabe Trevino says they catch criminals all the time, because they're dumb enough to drive around in a car with expired stickers.

"We've found everything from drug possession to traffic warrants and other type of warrants... and the initial contact was because of an expired registration."
