1200 WOAI - WOAI History

Since our sign on in 1922, WOAI has been San Antonio's source for news, information, and entertainment. Over the years, our giant broadcast signal has expanded to cover as many as thirty-eight states earning us the nickname "the blowtorch." But we never forget our home is here, and it's been an honor and privilege to serve south Texas for all of these years and look forward to many more. Although we prefer to look ahead, we cannot ignore our rich history. As we celebrate our 90th year, we invite you to take a trip in the WOAI time machine. In closing, we know you have more and more choices for media, and thank you for choosing NewsRadio 1200 WOAI. Read more history here.
