killed fellow policeman who was picking up flares on west side street
An appeals court has upheld the conviction of a former San Antonio police officer in connection with the death of another officer at Thanksgiving of 2008, 1200 WOAI news reports.
Officer Robert Seaton, 46, was driving at 102 miles per hour in his patrol car on a non emergency call on November 29, 2008 when he lost control of his police car at Potranco and Hunt Lane on the far west side, slammed into a car driven by 22 year old Darrell Lampkin, and then slammed into Officer Robert Davis, who was clearing flares from a previous accident.
Lampkin was critically injured and Officer Davis died of his injuries.
Seaton, who has been fired from the police force, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for manslaughter and aggravated assault by a public servant.
He was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
