another man was killed in a gun battle at a north side apartment complex two hours earlier

One man is dead in what police say appears to be a ‘gangland execution’ on the city’s northeast side, 1200 WOAI news reports.

Shortly before midnight, two men were walking down Nacogdoches Road near O’Connor when the driver of a pickup truck drove over one the men, apparently on purpose.

The driver than stopped the truck, ordered the other man to leave, and shot the victim repeatedly.

He died on the spot, the suspect then got back into the pickup and drove away.

It’s not the only bizarre killing officers are investigating.

About two hours earlier, one man was killed and a teenager was hurt during an apparent gunbattle at the Canton West Apartments in the 3500 block of West Avenue.

Police say a confrontation there led to gunfire in the laundry room.  A man who was shot in the stomach was rushed to the hospital where he died.

A 15 year old man  turned up at a convenience store suffering from a minor bullet wound.  He is being questioned by police.
