San Antonio NBC affiliate television station WOAI today was sold to Sinclair Broadcasting, as part of a package deal in which Sinclair purchased seven stations for more than $400 million, 1200 WOAI news reports.

Sinclair currently owns local Fox television affiliate KABB Channel 29 and CW Network affiliate KMYU television Channel 35.

In a separate transaction, Sinclair agreed to sell Channel 35 to Deerfield Media Group.

Sinclair bought Channel 4 from Newport Television, a wholly owned division of Providence Equity Management, which purchased Channel 4 and several other stations from Clear Channel Communications, the owner of 1200 WOAI radio, in 2007.
