happened in street near dance hall, topless club
A shooting spree on the city's northwest side this morning has left one person dead and two wounded, 1200 WOAI news reports.
San Antonio Police Sergeant Javier Salazar says it all started when two men were escorting a group of women to their car behind Cowboy's Dance Hall' and the San Antonio Men's Club on Exchange Parkway just off Loop 410 and Perrin-Beitel about 3 AM Thursday.
"The females were able to get into the car and leave," Salazar said, "But just after that, a truckload full of four men came and confronted the two men in the parking lot. A pretty serious confrontation ensued."
He says one of the two men who was being confronted dashed to his car and grabbed a handgun, opening fire in the truck load of four men.
"One of the four died at the scene, one was transported in serious condition, another was transported in less serious condition, and the fourth was not injured."
He says the surviving man in the pickup and the two men who were confronted in the parking lot are being questioned. Salazar didn't know where the men and women were coming from, or what the confrontation was about.
He says officials have not ruled out charges, but he said it also may have been a case of self defense.
