governor gives his approval
It's official, no aerial fireworks can not be used or sold in Bexar County through the coming Fourth of July, 1200 WOAI news reports.
Governor Perry Saturday approved a request by Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff to extend his emergency declaration until July 5, prohibiting the use of many types of fireworks through the coming holiday.
Wolff says the county is getting drier by the day, and even though the minimum drought level to ban fireworks has not yet been exceeded, he expects it to be in place by July Fourth.
Smaller fireworks, like sparklers, can be sold and used.
