lots of inquiries at pool companies
Nothing like a dive into a pool
to cool off in this heat.
Parker Smith of Keith Zars Pools
says as Texas summers heat up
more customers come calling.
"Once the real estate market bounced back and home builders started building again, we saw an immediate reflection in pool sales and it's been climbing," says Smith.
Chillers cool the pool since
summer pool water temps can be in 90s.
Smith says more
customers are asking for pools that they see at resorts or water parks.
"They want shallow water where people
can bring their lounge chairs out and sit, or beach entries which is a gentle slope down into the water, bar stools ...
those are all just very popular features right now."
Another trend is blending the
pool area with outdoor living.
"It's an extension of their indoor living out with covered patios and a summer kitchen outside especially when you have a family and children," says Smith.
Used to be some people wouldn't buy a house that had a swimming pool because of the maintenance But that has all changed.
"Pools now have automatic vacuum sweeps, they have automated systems that monitor chemical and chlorine so you don't have to be as hands on."
Some pools are so-called iPools where
you can launch the cleaning from your
iPhone.
