victim uses his cell phone to track stolen SUV
Technology was working on the side of the good guys overnight, when two thugs carjacked a man in the 5500 block of Southwest Military.
Police say the man's phone was inside the SVU that was stolen. When police got there, the victim told officers that he has set up his cell phone so he can pinpoint its location on his home computer.
The detectives went with the man to his home, where he logged on, and, sure enough, the detectives were able to see the location of the stolen phone, and the stolen SVU it was in.
They radioed police patrols, which went to the location and, sure enough, there was the stolen SUV.
The two thieves, still expressing surprise that officers were able to find them so quickly, were arrested, and the man has his phone, and his SUV, back.
