Fashion experts say finding the right suit can be worth the time and expense.
For many women, swimsuit season means anguished hours in poorly lit dressing rooms angsting over their choices and their bodies. Local fashion consultant Erin Busbee advises smaller busted women to get suits with some flounce
on top.
"If you are smaller chested then you want to add some volume to your upper half by adding some ruffle."
Busbee says heavier women can take advantage of the latest style.
"The retro 50s inspired swimwear is a big trend right now and they have high
waisted bottoms and that would provide more coverage," says Busbee.
"If you have a stomach that looks bigger than your chest from the side then that is a pretty good indicator that you need some tummy control. Miracle Suit is a terrific option. It has built in tummy control and it's really going to keep everything in check which is especially important too for bustier women."
A hot trend is wild bold colors and patterns.
"One of the trends is looking for something in a bold print. Like stripes, animal prints, anything that is eye popping."
She says it's not so much age that dictates using a two piece but your fitness.
"Women out there in their 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s, if they have terrific bodies, can
absolutely wear bikinis."
Busbee says take your time and choose what makes you feel good.
"Your confidence is going to make you look even better," says Busbee.
