Rackspace launches collaborative workspace.

Rackspace is trying to cultivate the next generation of Googles and Facebooks in San Antonio.

"Geekdom" is a collaborative workspace where budding entrepreneurs can share resources and ideas.

Nick Longo, the Director of Strategic Initiatives at Rackspace says it's designed to give Silicon Valley some competition.

"In Silicon Valley, they'll go and fizzle out and they're done. They get one chance
and if they don't make it, they go back to Iowa. Here, because of the low cost of living and the support of Geekdom, they get to keep failing over and over again, until they get it right."

The space, using one floor of the Westin Centre, has no long term leases, open
membership, desks, free wifi and even free coffee.

"We have 325 members and they are spending their days collaborating with each other, their marketers and developers."

"We have community membership which is $50.00 a month and you
can come 24/7 and then we have desk space and with that you can use the address for your LLC when they set up," explains Longo.

Geekdom also trains school kids giving them tech skills for the future.
