Police say victim was not the target
A teenage girl on San Antonio's east side is recovering today after getting caught in the crossfire of what police believe was a gang attack.
The 15 year old victim was playing volleyball in the front yard of a home in the 1000 block of Nellina Street around 8 p.m. when police say shots were fired from a passing vehicle.
Police found dozens of shell casings in the area. The girl was apparently hit by a stray shot. Investigators say she was not the target of the attack. She was rushed to the hospital but is expected to survive.
The gunmen sped away.
