While Beck entered the media world as a DJ at the tender age of 13, everything changed when he found a new vision of his career – talk radio. In 2002, he launched The Glenn Beck Program on just 47 stations with the mission to make listeners "feel goodness from my show and accept me for who I am, flaws and all." Nothing has been the same since.
Today, just a few years later, his radio show can be heard across the country on over 350 stations, his television show sets ratings records, his books reach the top of bestseller lists and he travels across
the country performing his live stage show to sold-out audiences. Across all of these mediums, Beck connects with his fans in a whole new way, inspiring and entertaining them with his humor, hardhitting interviews and honest tales about his life.
Beck's radio show, The Glenn Beck Program, is syndicated by Premiere Radio Networks and is the third highest-rated national radio talk show among adults ages 25 to 54. Beck was the recipient of the 2008 Marconi Award for Network/Syndicated Personality of the Year from the National Association of Broadcasters.
Beck's self-titled topical talk show on the Fox News Channel debuted on January 19th, 2009 to over 2.4 million viewers. This incredible launch built off the success of Beck's nightly TV show on CNN Headline News, which he hosted from 2006-2008. During those two years, the show grew by more than 200% in viewership in both the 7pm and 9pm timeslots.
Beck is the author of three New York Times Bestsellers. When his most recent book, The Christmas Sweater, debuted at #1 on the fiction list, Beck became one of a handful of authors to write books that reached #1 on both the fiction and non-fiction NYT lists. His previous title, An Inconvenient Book, was a #1 non-fiction bestseller and went through a remarkable nine printings.
Twice a year, Beck travels across the country on a live stage tour and has attracted over 100,000 fans in nearly 40 different markets. His web site, GlennBeck.com, receives millions of visitors a month.
Beck began his career in radio at the age of 13 in Seattle, and grew up in nearby Mount Vernon. After graduating high school, Beck landed jobs as a Top 40 DJ at stations across the country, from Baltimore and Houston, to Phoenix and New Haven, CT.
But at the age of 30, Beck lost his passion for radio - and everything else - as he was consumed by alcoholism and drug addiction. Coming to terms with his past and staying sober shifted his life direction. He found new love (his second wife, Tania) and religion (he was baptized Mormon) and decided he would pursue a career in talk radio.
Soon after, Beck received a call from an agent interested in representing him. Days later, he had an offer to host his own talk radio show on WFLA-AM in Tampa, Florida. Beck inherited the 18th placed
position at WFLA-AM and took it to the #1 position in his first year, giving the station its highest ratings ever.
Within 18 months, Premiere Radio Networks, the leading radio syndication company in the country, offered Glenn the opportunity to go national. In January 2002, The Glenn Beck Program debuted on
47 stations. Only a few years later, the show is now heard on over 350 stations and on XM satellite Radio.
Beck's production company, Mercury Radio Arts, produces or co-produces his radio, TV, live events, publishing and digital media rojects. Founded in 2002, Mercury has a full time staff of 20 employees and is based in New York, NY.
Glenn is married with four kids and resides in Connecticut.

Obviously the answer is DO NOT burn, but the misguided pastor in Florida is still considering going through with his promise to burn Korans on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. The pastor is demanding the Ground Zero mosque project come to a halt in order to stop the Koran burnings. Glenn and Sarah Palin are appearing at an event this Saturday, September 11th in Alaska. Not surprisingly, the media is going out of their way to try and find something wrong with the event. This time they are complaining that the tickets actually cost money to purchase. Donald Trump has stepped to the plate and made a cash offer with an 'immediate closing' date to buy the site of the proposed Ground Zero mosque. The Donald says he's making the offer not because he loves the property site, but for patriotism. Libs staging counter 8/28 Rally
Outraged at the effort to 'Restore Honor' to America, liberal groups are gathering their members and taking a trip to Washington in October. And what better way to battle honor than by featuring Charlie Rangel? (Not kidding, he says he'll be there). MSNBC host Ed Schultz is trying to pretend this is his rally, but it was originally planned by the NAACP who will be joined by SEIU, the AFL-CIO, Green for All (Van Jones group), La Raza and others. They claim that this rally is in no way a response to 8/28 and would have happened anyway – BUT they started planning this event waaaay back at the end of July (yes, July of 2010). It's sad. In Rattner's new book he admits that his first choice of who should be the new CEO of GM (after Rick Wagoner was canned) was NOT an American. The recipients of a federally funded study ($700,000) to research humor and joke telling are defending the grant. The ultimate goal is to create a computer program that can generate jokes. The Center for American Progress is a progressive organization that loves big government, so it was a surprise to see that they actually had a section devoted to finding areas in education that could actually be cut. But their motive becomes apparent when the list of cuts are revealed. 'Niche' programs on outdated topics like 'The United States Constitution' and 'American History' are on the chopping block. The media bashed George W. Bush for a relatively extravagant wedding for his daughter Jenna, but they seem to be quite excited for the wedding of Chelsea Clinton. Press Secretary Robert Gibbs tried to attack Rush Limbaugh yesterday saying that he wanted to abandon GM, while the government saved the day. Obama's assassination list?
A story that somehow slipped Glenn's radar screen - the President (according to the oh-so conservative Salon.com) has a "presidential assassination program," where "American citizens are targeted for killings far away from any battlefield, based exclusively on unchecked accusations by the Executive Branch that they're involved in Terrorism." This is particularly baffling coming from Obama, who complained about listening in on phone calls to terrorists. Now he wants to shoot Americans suspected of terrorism? Glenn explains on radio today.
