On Today's Program - July 2, 2008 Cancel the 4th? It's sad enough to see that people in Hollywood hate America and can only point out the negatives in America's past. Even sadder was the columnist op-ed that declared the fourth of July 'A not-so-glorious Fourth' and bashed America relentlessly---but the worst part is it ran in (of all places) the Philadelphia Inquirer. Read the article. God Bless America Frustrated with the focus of national conversation (by politicians) being so far off from what regular people are talking about---Glenn remembers back to 9/11 when all of the 'antichrist' politicians from both sides of the aisle came together and united our country. It didn't last long, but it was 'amazing', watching them stand side by side singing God Bless America. Where has that feeling gone and how do we get it back? Glenn explains. (Insiders listen here). Women causing rape? Glenn has instructed the dead man walking, best selling author Brad Thor, to call in from time to time just to let Glenn know he is alive. Brad called in today and reported a story coming out of Egypt where a picture is being used to promote the use of the hijab and niqab by Egyptian women. Here is the picture---and Brad explaining to Glenn what it all means. Read the transcript. (Insiders listen here). Inaction in action Glenn put together this look back at what our politicians have said since Jimmy Carter proclaimed, in 1977, that we would never increase our dependence on foreign oil. We've all seen how that worked out. If you are hoping for politicians to act differently this time around---don't hold your breath. The consistency of rhetoric is simply astounding in this incredible (and incredibly depressing) montage. Watch the video. Taking guns For those of you looking for the video from the NRA that has interviews with people from New Orleans who had their weapons confiscated by police in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, stay tuned to tomorrow's email newsletter, which will have the full video. Rush is the Man Details of Mr.Limbaugh's record breaking deal were announced today on the Drudge Report. Stu's synopsis: "Rush is the man". Check out the latest Stu Blog. On Today's Program - July 1, 2008 Worst voicemail ever Yes, ranking right up there with Alec Baldwin's rant calling his 12 year old daughter a 'thoughtless little pig' or Charlie Sheen's message calling Denise Richards the 'n' word voicemails, is this fantastic phone message from 'Dmitri' who met a woman in San Francisco and was able to get her number. Dmitri, surprisingly, is single---despite the fact that he is 'working on a movie script' and has 'nothing wrong with him'. Psychotic, hilarious, and scary all at the same time---this voicemail proves once and for all that you never give a stranger on the street your number who would talk longer but 'had to get heck out of the area'. Read the transcript. (Insiders listen here). America's soundtrack Glenn just couldn't talk about Obama's socialist policies today---he just couldn't do it. He's trying to enjoy the already agonizingly high taxes before President Obama implements the highest tax raise in world history. Glenn claims the decline of America can be traced back to our musical tendencies. 'This is where -- this is where, when we were in our cars and we turned on the radio, we should have known Jesus is coming soon, within -- when did this come out?'--Glenn commenting on 'The Macarena'. Stu and Glenn debate where the decline began---Stu's first example does not help strengthen his case. Read the transcript. (Insiders listen here). Reid: 'Oil makes us sick' Harry Reid, the clairvoyant nimrod Senator from Nevada who declared the Iraq war 'lost' before the surge even started, is saying amazingly stupid things again. This time, he proclaims that 'coal makes us sick. Oil makes us sick'. Apparently demonizing oil is part of Reid's plan to lower gas prices, as he promised Democrats would do when they were elected in 2006. That worked out well. Read the transcript. (Insiders listen here). Glenn's ouchie Glenn was showing off his disgusting bruise for the Insiders on the webcam today, and for some morbid reason the clip of this video is making an appearance in this newsletter. Why anyone would want to see an elephant with a boo-boo? It's kind of like looking at a really bad car accident or a beheading video---you don't really want to look, but do so anyway...so here it is (you sick, twisted, weirdo). (Insiders watch the video here). On Today's Program - June 30, 2008 Glenn's Message To You Glenn apologizes if his message to you is incoherent, since he wrote it on the plane at 2 in the morning. Read it here. Free Speech Wins Friend of the program -- writer Mark Steyn, who had been attacked by the national Canadian "Human Rights" Commission for the horrific crime of saying things he believed, has been cleared. "It was the second of three motions before three separate bodies to be dismissed; Steyn still awaits the decision of the British Columbia provincial commission." Oh, if Mark were only a fan of higher taxes and Barack Obama, how much easier his life would be. Read the article. What the mainstream media won't report Casualties in May and June represent the lowest 2 month period in entire Iraq war. From Newsbusters: So how will the media handle the unprecedented improvement? Some possibilities: On the program today, Glenn reminds all of us to remember to pray for our troops, and think about everything they do for us. Read the transcript. (Insiders listen here). Blame the speculators While everyone blames speculators for oil prices, they might want to read up on the market for onions. From CNNMoney.com: Back in 1958, onion growers convinced themselves that futures traders (and not the new farms sprouting up in Wisconsin) were responsible for falling onion prices, so they lobbied an up-and-coming Michigan Congressman named Gerald Ford to push through a law banning all futures trading in onions. The law still stands. Problem? With no futures markets, onion prices swing far more wildly than oil markets. Oh yeah, and iron ore too: Read more here. Dead Man Talking Brad Thor, author of The Last Patriot Also, look for an excerpt from The Last Patriot in tomorrow's email newsletter! Stu Blog Is Governor Jindal the toughest politician in America on child molesters? It certainly seems that way. Get the details in the latest Stu Blog. Show Notes - Week of June 23, 2008

On Today's Program - June 20, 2008 Glenn takes a spill Thanks to Pat Gray for filling in last minute yesterday---he was in because Glenn was going down into the basement and took a nasty spill down the stairs. Fortunately Glenn avoided major injury and is doing fine. He talks a little bit about the incident and sadly, someone thought it was a good idea to take pictures of Glenn while he was at the hospital. Read the transcript. (Insiders listen here). Angry white men Caller Barry has purchased the 'I'm an angry bitter white man' t-shirt and it's achieving the desired effect -- lots of odd looks and comments. So only buy one of these shirts if you are ready and willing to confront Obama supporters who call you on clinging to your guns and religion. Congress at 'work' Oil prices are sky rocketing. Heated debates over drilling here at home are raging. The American people are ready to grab pitchforks and torches and head to Washington DC. So what are the geniuses in DC doing today to ease oil prices? Listening to the testimony of Scott McClellan. Gas prices are dropping everywhere now that Scott McClellan is talking about his Bush bashing book on Capital Hill! Read the transcript. (Insiders listen here). Drill for the love of Pete! Glenn interviews the Secretary of the Interior, Dirk Kempthorne, about drilling here at home. The Secretary is presenting the message the President delivered this week about the need to start drilling here and now, and that's great---however Glenn is perplexed at why the President only says he's ready to 'unlock' his key to start the drilling rather than just unlock it and put all the pressure squarely on the Democrats shoulders. Read the transcript. (Insiders listen here). On Today's Program - June 19, 2008 Where is Glenn? Glenn was out today, recovering from a minor fall, but we expect him to be back tomorrow. Thanks to his best friend Pat Gray from Glenn's Houston affiliate KSEV for filling in for him today on radio. Dems to 'nationalize' big oil? The industry of big oil has become so bad, so evil, that Democrats think it's high time the government steps in and basically runs Universal Oil Care. They want to nationalize big oil. The only thing funnier than the ridiculousness of this idea would be actually watching the government find a way to lose money running the oil industry. First Maxine Waters told oil executives that 'this liberal' would socialize oil companies, then House Democrats proposed nationalizing oil refineries. They aren't even hiding it anymore! Read the full story. Michelle hits The View In an attempt to recreate her image from an American hating leftist nut-job to America's leading lady, Michelle cozied up to the girls on The View. She said the comment that she has never been proud of this country was taken out of context. One question, if Michelle loves the country so much, why does she also say it's time to 'change traditions and change the history' of this country? Doesn't really matter how insane she sounds, because the media is eating up every word the Obamas say. Here comes global warming! We are always quick to bash Hollywood whenever they further the global warming agenda, so we thought it appropriate to give credit when they bash it too. This episode of South Park has a very funny scene where a hysterical crowd is running because global warming is 'right behind them'. Classic. On Today's Program - June 18, 2008 Congress takes notice Apparently the thousands of calls you placed to the Congress were heard because not only did the Democrats press the panic button and delay the scheduled vote on drilling the outer continental shelf---President Bush today spoke out about the need to start drilling and producing oil in many different ways. Drilling offshore, using oil shale, and drilling in Anwr. Read the transcript. (Insiders listen here). If you missed it yesterday, you can read Congressman Peterson's piece detailing his plan for greater U.S. energy independence here. EDITOR'S NOTE: Is it a coincidence that all of a sudden, after Glenn talked about it and you acted by calling Congress that there is suddenly political action? No! Here is all the information you need to keep putting the pressure on the politicians. They are hearing you! Keep it going! Find out how to contact your representative here. March to Socialism There is certainly no a shortage of examples that this country is rapidly heading down a path to socialism, and this story only furthers that sentiment. A new poll has come out, and the question was 'do you oppose the nationalization of oil companies?'. If anyone can find a way to lose money in the oil business, it's the government. But, how many people in the survey were against that idea? The answer may shock you. Read the transcript. (Insiders listen here). Keep the light on, Al Al Gore's Tennessee mansion was the cause of some controversy a couple of years ago when it was discovered that the house was wildly inefficient. Gore's excuses at the time were that 'well, the house is four times bigger than the typical house'. Did someone force Al to buy the house at gunpoint? Is he aware there are smaller houses in America? Gore also claimed that the house was very old and that he had to convert it to be green. Al, you didn't have to buy that one. Well, most of the green renovations are finally done---and the Gore's were able to save---zero dollars on energy usage. Instead, they actually increased their usage by 10%. But he's probably got lots of 'carbon offset' bumper stickers on his car! Read the article. Bugs for oil Kudos to the fine citizens of San Francisco, who are trying desperately to come up with a solution to the soaring cost of energy. The only problem is that the solution they arrived at was to use bug poop in order to create oil. Read the full story. And the factory they would need to build in order to fully implement the technology of bug poop for oil would have to be the size of the entire city of Chicago. Good thing there are scientists working on the bug poop thing instead of something like, solving cancer perhaps? Read the transcript. (Insiders listen here). On Today's Program - June 17, 2008 Obama slams Asians Barack Obama appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel show and everyone was talking about how he said he'd put a basketball court in the White House while replacing the bowling alley. Glenn asks, can the guy at least win the election first before he starts re-decorating the place? Also, the part that the media missed, not surprisingly, was when he slammed Asians for being small. Of course, this is not an offensive comment---but if a conservative said something like this, even in jest, they would surely be crucified for it and deemed a hatemonger for the rest of their days. Other fun hypocrisy in this segment: Al Gore endorsing Obama despite Obama's admittance that several of his friends 'fly in' to play basketball with him. That doesn't sound very environmentally friendly. Read the transcript. (Insiders listen here). Drill now! Congressman John Peterson from Pennsylvania joined Glenn to rally people around his effort to start drilling the outer continental shelf. Shockingly, he's running into resistance from the left and from environmental groups. He is urging the United States to start getting into many other areas of energy, too---oil shale, coal to liquids, coal to gas, more nuclear---so that we can start easing the pressure on our mid-east oil suppliers and show them that we can produce more energy on our own. He is re-introducing the bill again as it goes for another round of votes. Read the transcript. (Insiders listen here). Read the Congressman's piece detailing his plan for greater U.S. energy independence here. Sign Newt Gingrich's petition to 'Drill here, drill now' here. Find your representative to call here. High gas prices...good? It's coming. The left went from promising to ease the pain at the pump---to touting the positives of high gas prices. It's unbelievable but true. What possible good could come out of raising the price of gasoline? Apparently there are many reasons, which Glenn predicts will be the new rallying cry from the left---excuses for the high gas prices. From Barack Obama saying high gas prices are fine (but he doesn't want them to spike, just a slow climb) to the New York Times saying that the government should force the price of gas higher (and not let it go below $4 per gallon) because it's 'having the right effect'. Wow, is this America? Doesn't sound like it. Read the transcript. (Insiders listen here). Read the agonizing New York Times op-ed piece in support of higher gas prices here. On Today's Show - June 16, 2008 Tim Russert By now you've heard that legendary journalist Tim Russert passed away on Friday at the way too young age of 58. Today was Glenn's first chance to pay tribute to the toughness and fairness that marked Russert's career. Glenn loved Russert's work because Glenn would cheer when he was attacking the other guy---but yell at the TV when his guy was getting grilled. Glenn says Russert was one of the last in a dying breed 'journalists' . . . Read the full tribute here. (Insiders |
