A 21-year-old woman from Utah has been charged with murder for allegedly shooting her friend. Authorities said that a man called 911 on Tuesday (April 30) afternoon to report that his daughter, Heavenly Faith Garfield, had shot and killed somebody in his home.

He told officers that his daughter made a suicide pact with the victim before killing her.

When officers arrived, they found the victim with a single gunshot wound to the head and a spent 9mm casing next to her body.

According to the police affidavit obtained by KUTV, after killing her friend, who was not identified, Garfield allegedly messaged another person saying that she "intended on committing suicide, but was too scared to kill herself."

The friend also confirmed to detectives that the victim told him about the suicide pact, and they had been planning it for several weeks.

Garfield was taken into custody and charged with felony discharge of a firearm and murder.
