Michigan is one game away from a national championship. The Wolverines outlasted the Alabama Crimson Tide 27-20 in overtime of the Rose Bowl to punch their ticket to the College Football Playoff National Championship game next Monday in Houston. Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy threw for three touchdowns and led the Wolverines down the field late to force overtime, with running back Blake Corum scoring on the first possession of the overtime period. Alabama had the ball on fourth down at the three yard line with the chance to force a second overtime, but quarterback Jalen Milroe was unable to run the ball in. Michigan will play the Washington in the title game next week.
