San Antonio Police have released body camera footage of three separate officer involved shootings from August to early September. One of the incidents happened on August 30th when police spotted 40-year-old Michael Kirkland, who was wanted for aggravated assault on a public servant. Police say Kirkland sped away, hitting a police cruiser when officers attempted a traffic stop. This led to a pursuit with Kirkland driving the wrong way on the IH 10 access road. Kirkland took off on foot after colliding with a civilian vehicle. Police say he fired multiple rounds, striking an officer in the arm. He then began firing at passing motorists to gain access to a car, according to police. Officers exchanged gunfire with Kirkland, eventually striking him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
