A new report says Texas produces and consumes the most electricity in the country. According to the Energy Information Administration, last year Texas generated more than double the electricity of the second-most productive state, Florida. However, the Lone Star State also uses the most energy in the U.S, with most of it being taken by the industrial sector. While the other states are interconnected on two power systems, most of Texas is on a third, separate grid that isn't subject to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
