The Texas Longhorns went into Alabama and knocked off the Crimson Tide 34-24. The win snapped the Crimson Tide's 21-game home winning streak at Bryant-Denny Memorial Stadium.

Sophomore quarterback Quinn Ewers completed 24-of-38 passes for 349 passing yards and three touchdowns, connecting with junior wide receiver's Adonai Mitchell and Xavier Worthy.

Ja'Tavion Sanders was the Longhorns' leading receiver with five catches for 114 yards, including a 50-yard reception. Worthy caught five passes for 75 yards with one touchdown, while Mitchell had three catches for 78 yards and two touchdowns.

Jonathan Brooks rushed 14 times for 57 yards with one touchdown and was instrumental in closing out the game with a seven-minute drive to end the game.

Freshman linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. had six total tackles, including two sacks to lead the Longhorns defense.

  • Jahdae Barron intercepted his first pass of the season early in the first quarter to set up the game's opening score, a 22-yard field goal by Bert Auburn.
  • Alabama answered with a 42-yard field goal on the first play of the second quarter to tie the game, 3-3.
  • The Longhorns quickly retook the lead on a 44-yard strike from Ewers to Worthy, capping a four-play, 75-yard drive to make the score 10-3.
  • Auburn extended the Texas lead to 13-3 with a 29-yard field goal after a 14-play, 82-yard drive that lasted more than six minutes.
  • On the final play of the first half, the Crimson Tide trimmed the Longhorns lead to 13-6 with a 30-yard field goal.
  • Alabama kicked its third field goal of the game, a 51-yarder to open the second half.

  • Jerrin Thompson intercepted Jalen Milroe and returned it 32-yards down to the Alabama five-yard line. Jonathan Brooks took full advantage and punched in a five-yard touchdown to give Texas a 27-16 lead.
  • Alabama came right back with a 75-yard touchdown drive and converted the two-point conversion to trim the Texas lead to 27-24.
  • Mitchell caught his second touchdown of the fourth quarter, a 39-yard strike from Ewers, with eight minutes left to play to extend the lead back to 10 points.
  • Texas forced a punt with 7:14 left in the fourth quarter and ran the ball nine times to run out the clock and secure the win.
