As much of the country continues to bake in the latest heat wave, the price of water in Texas prisons is going up. The Texas Department of Criminal Justice confirms its vendor -- Royal Pacific Tea Company -- has increased the price of its bottled water it sells to Texas. The company requested the price hike and after negotiations, settled on a ten-cent hike per bottle -- from 20 to 30 cents. State prison officials say prisoners also have access to tap water but note the systems in many jails are old with outdated plumbing. They say the increase could not have come at a worse time.
