Veterinarians in Texas are seeing a rash of dog injuries, thanks to this blazing heat. The triple-digit temperatures make the pavement scorching and that burns the puppy's paws.

Dr. Lori Teller at the Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine says that, when it gets this hot, dog owners need to take their pets for a walk in the morning or the evening. It's too hot during the day.

If you must take your dog out during the day, keep them on the grass.

She says you can get little shoes for your dog and they help. The trick is getting them to wear them.
