Gov. Greg Abbott is reporting that he raised more than $15 million in campaign donations in the last 12 days of June. Abbott announced the figure on Wednesday, ahead of Monday's filing deadline with the Texas Ethics Commission. Texas statewide officials and lawmakers aren't allowed to fundraise during regular legislative sessions. The moratorium was lifted on June 19th, giving officials 12 days to raise money before the close of the reporting period. Abbott's campaign says his cash on hand is now more than $23 million.
