Texas linebacker Jaylan Ford is receiving lofty preseason accolades. The Longhorns defender has been named the Preseason All-Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and starting linebacker. Other Texas players to be selected for the team include wide receiver Xavier Worthy, tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders, offensive lineman Kelvin Banks Jr. and defensive lineman Byron Murphy the Second. Players from around the Lone Star state to also be selected were Baylor running back Richard Reese, Texas Tech receiver Jerand Bradley and defensive lineman Jaylon Hutchings, TCU kicker Griffin Kell, defensive lineman Damonic Williams, linebacker Johnny Hodges and defensive back Josh Newton.
