Sean Elliott Talks About Going To Dinner With Wemby

Sean Elliott appeared on the Dan Patrick show to talk about going to dinner with Victor Wembanyama. At the dinner were Spurs legends David Robinson, Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Coach Gregg Popovich.

"They put it together to just kind of welcome him to the city and welcome him with guys he grew up watching play. The icons of the organization," said Elliott. "When he walked in, just to see the expression on his face. There was like a reverence there."

"We gave him some tips and some pointers on how to prepare himself, how to get ready for the season, how to endure the gruel," said Elliott. "He asked us all how you can get enough sleep on the road. What type of young person asks that question. He's really mature and wise beyond his years."

When it comes to expectations for the first season, Elliott says the Spurs have realistic expectations. "He's 19 years old. He's going to have to have an adjustment to the NBA. It's not going to be easy. He understands that," said Elliott. "We are going to be a much better team, obviously because of him. He is going to make everybody else better. I don't know how that's going to translate into wins, but right now if you asked Pop, he'd tell you the same thing. It's not about the wins and losses, it is about developing and getting better and getting a foundation for his NBA career."

"I'm looking at this team. I think we are going to win more games, obviously. I think we are going to win a lot more games, but I can't talk about playoffs or anything like that because there are so many variable that go into the season," said Elliott.
