Attorney General Ken Paxton's chances in his impeachment trial are getting a slight numerical boost because of a decision by the Senate. One of the Senate's rules for the trial is that Paxton's wife, Sen. Angela Paxton, will be part of the court of impeachment, but won't be allowed to vote or take part in deliberations. If all 12 Democrats vote to convict Paxton, nine of the 18 GOP senators will have to agree in order to remove him from office. If Sen. Paxton been removed from the proceedings, only eight Republicans would have to agree.
