North East ISD is giving its staff their biggest pay increase in nearly 20-years. The Board of Trustees approved a compensation package of nearly $35 million that includes a one-time retention supplement and will affect all eligible employees. Superintendent Dr. Sean Maika says the idea is to "offset the inflation that is impacting everyone." Over half of the pay increase will benefit teachers, counselors, librarians, and school nurses.
