A bill to allow the state to use eminent domain to acquire land for the construction of a border wall now has the go-ahead from a Texas Senate committee. The Border Security Committee advanced Senate Bill 1481 on Tuesday by a 3-2 party-line vote. Debate surrounding the bill mostly involved the cost of building more than a thousand miles of border wall, plus the possibility of monitoring the border with radar technology.
