A San Antonio school district is checking the contents of more than 400 books listed in a Republican lawmaker's investigation. North East ISD is acting in response to a request from state Rep. Matt Krause of Fort Worth, chair of the House General Investigating Committee. Krause's inquiry in October mentioned more than 800 books that deal with race or sex in ways that may be age-inappropriate for school children. District officials found 414 of the titles in their libraries and have already deemed more than 100 to be age-appropriate.
