A security guard was shot overnight at a Northwest Side apartment complex.
Police say it happened about 3 a.m. today at the Shadow Creek Apartments in the 7500 block of Pinemont Drive. Officers say the security noticed someone was in the laundry room after hours and after telling him to leave, the man returned and fired a gun in the air and ran off. The security guard chases after the man and that's when the security guard was shot in the chest. He underwent surgery overnight. A suspect is in custody.
