Trump-Backed Candidate Loses Texas Special Election

Former President Donald Trump's candidate lost in a special congressional election Tuesday night in Texas. Trump got involved during the first round of voting in May when he threw his support behind Susan Wright, the widow of former GOP Congressman Ron Wright. She lost to State Representative Jake Ellzey, last night, 53-to-47 percent. Ellzey was better funded and that outweighed Trump's support for Wright, which included two tele-town halls and a taped robo-call by the former president.
