Austin is considering almost four dozen locations for city-authorized homeless camps. The list was revealed today during the City Council meeting, including South Austin Recreation Center and Walnut Creek Sports Park. Lakeline Neighborhood Park and Austin Recreation Center could also be places where the homeless can stay. The areas will have electricity and water service, plus fencing where appropriate. The city-sponsored homeless camps are being put together after voters banned camping citywide earlier this month.
