Police Lights and Sirens Law Enforcements

A man is dead after getting into a shootout with San Antonio police officers overnight. Police Chief William McManus says the officers had been called to a shooting at a house in the 600 block of Gabriel. When they arrived they found the gunman walking down the street. As he walked into a field, McManus says an officer tried to tase him to take him into custody and that's when the man fired two shots at officers. Officers returned fire and wounded him. He later died at a hospital. Police say the man is accused of shooting another man at his ex-girlfriend's house. The victim he shot is in critical condition. None of the officers were injured.
