San Antonio Power Outages Under 10,000

CPS Energy was able to restore power to many customers who had been without power on Wednesday.

At one point on Wednesday, more than 300,000 customers were without power. As of 8 a.m. Thursday, that number was down to 8,402, but had climbed above 9,000 again by 8:30 a.m.

Officials say we can expect to see the numbers rising and falling for the next few days.

They say they should be able to keep power restored to most customers once the temperatures sustain a level over freezing, which could be on Saturday.

While they say that will help alleviate the need for controlled outages, there will be equipment that has failed on parts of the system that will need repaired to fully restore all remaining customers. This may take some outages into Monday to fully address.
