COVID-19 Curfew Imposed In El Paso

A COVID-19 prevention curfew is in place in El Paso. Yesterday, El Paso County Judge Ricardo Samaniego in consultation with health officials issued the order due to the region's current spike in positive cases. During a media update event, Samaniego said hospital emergency care units are at capacity. The curfew goes from 10:00-p.m. to 5:00-a.m. starting as of last night. Violators will be stopped and questioned and could face hundreds of dollars in fines. Under the curfew, only one person per family is allowed outside only to obtain essential items.
