DA's Office Won't Reopen Cases Of Men Shot And Killed By SAPD Officers

Bexar County District Attorney Joe Gonzales says he doesn't plan to reopen the cases of three fatal officer-involved shootings in San Antonio. An officer shot 23-year-old Marquise Jones in 2014 outside a restaurant when Jones reportedly pulled a gun as a friend was being arrested. An officer who shot an armed suspect at a drug house in 2018 also hit and killed 18-year-old Charles Roundtree, who was in the line of fire. Grand juries cleared both officers. And an officer shot and killed 36-year-old Antronie Scott during a 2016 traffic stop when he mistook Scott's cell phone for a gun. A federal lawsuit is pending.
