San Antonio Police Disperse Protesters With Pepper Balls, Projectiles

San Antonio Police fired projectiles into a group of protesters overnight in an effort to disperse the group that had been throwing glass bottles at officers.

In the process a reporter from the Express News was reportedly hit by one of the projectiles.

Police later said, they were trying to disperse unruly crowds causing damage. Using pepper balls, smoke, wooden, and rubber projectiles. Police said these hit the ground and impact the lower extremities. "This done only after officers attacked with glass bottles. Media is not the target, those causing damage are," said the police.

Mayor Ron Nirenberg was asked on Twitter whether he was okay with this and he responded, "No, I'm not. I am asking for more information on these projectiles."
