A suspect is dead after hijacking a transit bus in the Dallas area. Local media reports say the situation started in Richardson when the suspect fired shots before the driver of the DART bus was taken hostage and ordered to take the suspect to an unknown spot. Another person was on the bus which was then involved in a chase where officers were fired at and one DART officer was injured along with a Garland police officer. Their injuries aren't life-threatening. Spike strips were used on the President George Bush Turnpike and the suspect was eventually shot and died at the hospital.
