Bexar County Sheriff's Deputy Shoots, Kills Suspect

A man is dead after being shot to death by a Bexar County Sheriff's Deputy in Elmendorf. Deputies had been called to backup Elmendorf police on reports of a man dragging a woman into a house at that location.

Sheriff Javier Salazar says when deputies arrived, the man grabbed some type of a weapon, possibly a screwdriver, and made a movement toward the deputy. At that time, the deputy shot him. The suspect died at the scene. The deputy is said to be a five-year-veteran of the force. The sheriff said that the Public Integrity Office along with homicide will be investigating.
