Fire Extinguisher Forces Evacuation of Downtown Hotel

All of the guests at the upscale St. Anthony Hotel on East Travis Street downtown had to be evacuated after a fire extinguisher tripped the fire alarm, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Passersby saw what appeared to be smoke coming out of a third floor window

Fifteen fire units were called in to help with the evacuation.

The hotel's sprinkler system did the major job of putting out the smoke, which caused only minor damage and no injuries.

The guests were allowed back in after the floor was cleared by the Fire Department.
