Little Girl Killed in Sea World Parking Lot

A fun evening at Sea World ended in unspeakable tragedy for one family Sunday night, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Police Sgt. Michelle Ramos says a five year old girl, who was walking back to the family car, suddenly broke free from the adults and started running through the Sea World parking lot.

She suddenly darted out from between two cars and was hit by a passing pickup.

The pickup driver jumped out and immediately began to help the little girl, and an Airlife Helicopter was called in, but it was too late.  The little girl was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ramos described the pickup driver as 'distraught,' and she said, while the investigation is underway, officers are calling this a 'tragic accident' and no charges are expected.
