Mariners Edge Rangers 2-1

Mariners

Nelson Cruz and Kyle Seager hit back-to-back RBI singles in the sixth inning to lift the Mariners past the Rangers 2-1 in the first of a four-game series at Safeco Field.  Marco Gonzales  gave up just an unearned run over six-and-two-thirds innings to run his  record to 5-and-3.  Edwin Diaz closed it out for his 19th save.   Seattle has won four straight and nine of its last 10 to improve to  33-and-20.  Rougned Odor scored the lone Texas run on a passed ball in  the third.  Doug Fister yielded two runs in six frames to fall to  1-and-5 with the tough-luck loss.
