Transgender Woman Shot in Northeast Side Motel Room

A transgender woman was found shot earlier today in a northeast side motel, and police are looking for a teenaged suspect, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

The night manager at the Travel Lodge Inn at Loop 410 and Perrin-Beitel called police about 2AM and said he had heard gunfire in a second floor room.

When police entered the room, they found the victim bleeding on the floor.

She was rushed to the hospital and is listed in stable condition.

Police say the man and the victim had met through a dating app, and there were signs of a struggle in the room. The victim was not being cooperative with police.

A man, described as '18 or 19' was also in the room, and police are searching for him.
