A shooting on the city's southwest side early today left a three year old shot in the head, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.. The boy later died at the hospital.
A family was driving down New Laredo Highway shortly before midnight, when anoth car pulled up and somebody in the car started shooting..
Several shots hit the vehicle but the family sped off, not realizing that the child in the back seat was bleeding from a bullet to the head.
The family then sped to Southwest General Hospital, where Airlife was called to rush the child to University Hospital.
Nobody else in the car was hurt.
Police say the other car sped away. Officers at the scene were searching for a motive, but it is not believed to be a random incident.
