No San Antonians Make Annual Forbes 'Richest List'

San Antonio gets skunked in this year's Forbes 400 ranking of the richest people in America, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

None of the 32 Texans on the list are from San Antonio, although Tom Benson, who has a home in the Hill Country but lives in New Orleans, does make the Forbes 400, ranking at number 288 with a net worth of $2.8 billion.

Other familiar Texas names on the list include Jerry Jones, Mark Cuban, Michael Dell, and Ross Perot Sr. and Jr.

The richest Texan, as usual, is Walmart heiress Alice Walton, who lives in Ft. Worth, with a personal wealth put at $38.2 billion, more than $10 billion ahead of the number two finisher, Dell.

Bill Gates of Medina Washington is again the richest person in America, followed by Jeff Bezos of Seattle.  Other prominent people on the list include liberal activist George Soros, Laureen Powell Jobs, the widow of Steve Jobs, and President Donald Trump, who clocks in this year with a net worth of $3.1 billion.  Forbes gives his address simply as 'Washington DC.'

No San Antonio resident could come up with the $2 billion needed to make the list this year.
